C’mon, It’s Go Time!

 *photo from The Goodbye Girl

Just a note to let you know I’ll be pretty scarce, blogging wise, the month of November due mainly to NaNoWriMo. Why? Because in a moment of insanity, I told myself I’ll be writing 100k by the end of the month. The less distractions I have for the next few weeks, the better.

I’m sure I will pop up from time to time to bemoan or squee about my word count and random things I may come across and want to share with you. If I feel particularly poud of something, I may even post a snippet or two! :)

Other than that, I’ll see you in December!

T13: 13 Questions

1 What’s one place in the world you’d like to live?
2 Favorite toy as a child?
3 What fictional character do you most relate to?
4 What makes you feel loved?
5 What would you take with you if stranded in a jungle?
6 If you could rule the world for a day, what’s the first thing you’d change?
7 What foreign languge would you like to learn?
8 Would you rather have chocolate or television?
9 Who is your favorite author?
10 What are you least looking forward to completing this week?
11 If you could be reincarnated as anything, living or not, what would it be?
12 If you owned a store, what would you sell?
13 What are you going to do after you’ve read this blog post?

Your Turn: Answer a question (or however many) in the comments!

also, ignore the background for now – just testing some things out…

PHENOMENAL WOMAN
by Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing of my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
I say
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
The palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
